Entering the Inner Sanctuary
Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply a few breaths. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is the inner Temple. Here, you are One with Spirit and all persons, and Nature. You may use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of universal-Grace. Enjoy these moments of Quiet and come out when you are ready. The following video is provided, for those who would like meditative music to accompany your Quiet contemplation:

A Sufi story tells of a woman who speaks to another woman, saying, "Poor Maisie really has suffered for what she believes in." Asks the second woman, "And what does Maisie believe in?" "Oh, Maisie believes you can wear a size six shoe on a size nine foot."

Many suffer much by trying to avoid suffering by living unexamined claims to truth. Even in religion, a myriad lives truth it has not personally chosen to live through them. And this is one fact of truth: It is not your truth until it passes through you, becoming one with you.
However, we should not use the word "faith" or "mystery" to claim foolishness and total impracticality as divine truth. Attaching the name God, Jesus, a guru, or a Bible citation to a claim no more makes it true than attaching the word elf or clown to a claim of truth.
The person living in the Spirit often accepts a truth that while true is not as comfortable as the person who chooses a group version of truth based on collective prejudice or personal convenience. She who is devoted to the Truth, truly, will seek courage from the Divine to claim as true what is more costly to her than all other claims to truth, though these demand less or nothing from her.
Some of you readers know of what I speak. You have chosen honesty in matters of faith that sets you apart as seeking a path of genuine spirituality and insightful intellect, more so than is often among persons of religious faith. You are held suspect - or worse - by some of these persons, if you dare speak your mind and heart. And, at times, you long to be understood. Better to be misunderstood and devoted enough to truth to fellowship with few, or be alone, than share friendly compromise for the sake of togetherness.
